MediaPilot vs Gemini

Free drafts and images. LinkedIn not included.

Gemini's free plan drafts a post and generates an image for it. Google's list of Connected Apps has no LinkedIn, so publishing, the calendar and the numbers are a separate job. Here is the comparison, including where free is the right price.

What Gemini does

A lot for nothing, inside Google

Gemini's free plan includes chat, image generation and editing, Deep Research and Gems. Google AI Plus is $4.99 a month and Google AI Pro $19.99. For a draft and a picture, nothing in this comparison is cheaper. Gemini also runs scheduled actions, up to ten at a time. Each has Gemini prepare a response and notify you — post ideas every Monday, say. What arrives is an answer in your chat, not a post on LinkedIn. So the text still has to be copied into LinkedIn, the image attached, the time chosen and the results looked up later. That gap is what MediaPilot is for: topic, draft, image, calendar, publishing through the official LinkedIn API, analytics per post.

  • No LinkedIn among Google's Connected Apps

The connection exists in the US, for now

MediaPilot has an MCP server that an assistant can use as its hands: draft into your workspace, schedule, read the analytics. For Gemini it depends on where you are. Google's help centre describes adding a custom app by its MCP server URL — for now only for adults in the US, on a personal Google account, in English. MediaPilot's server speaks standard MCP, but we have no Gemini guide yet and make no promise there. Elsewhere there is no way to add MediaPilot to Gemini today. Gemini Spark, Google's agent for Pro and Ultra, can work through websites; it is not offered in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK. The practical route: let Gemini help you think, and let MediaPilot do the LinkedIn work in its own app.

  • Custom MCP apps in Gemini: US, personal accounts, English
  • Setup guides exist for Claude and ChatGPT
  • MediaPilot's own app needs no assistant at all

Where Gemini is the better choice

You want the lowest cost

Gemini's free plan drafts the post and makes the image. If you post once a month, you need nothing else.

You work in Google's apps

Gemini connects to Gmail, Docs, Drive and Calendar. If the post starts from a document, Gemini is already next to it.

You need more than LinkedIn posts

Gemini writes for any network, and its paid plans generate video. MediaPilot makes one thing: a post with an image.

FAQ

Good to know

Google lists no LinkedIn app among Gemini's Connected Apps. Gemini writes the text and makes the image; posting is up to you, or a tool with LinkedIn's API.

Gemini for the idea. MediaPilot for the channel.
